Air taxi: the first vertiport next to the airport is complete
The first vertiport for Joby Aviation's electric air taxis is ready; passenger flights are targeted for 2026.
According to The National's report of 23 April 2026, the vertiport next to Dubai International Airport (DXB) is complete.
Figures
- Vertiport: 3,100 sq m, two landing pads
- Target: 170,000 passengers a year
- Four vertiports: DXB, Dubai Marina, Dubai Mall and Palm Jumeirah
- Aircraft: one pilot and four passengers, speed up to 320 km/h
- Airport to Palm Jumeirah in under 12 minutes; about 45 minutes by road
The start of passenger flights depends on certification being completed.
